If children are to be successful in their academics, it’s fair to expect that teachers cannot do everything but also need parents to partner with them.

In fact, research has indicated that when parents’ get involved in the process of a child’s learning, they begin to improve in almost every sphere of life.

So, here are 3 things that teachers could get help with from parents:

#1: Read to your child

One of the most crucial things that a parent can do is read aloud to their child, and this was according to findings compiled by the US Department of Education Commission of Reading in 1985.

In fact, the study went on to reveal that children who were read to by a family member were likely to end up with grades in the top 25% of their class.

#2: Attend PTA meetings and local school council meetings too

It’s imperative that every parents gets involved in the PTA. Even if it’s difficult to get off work, make sure that you ask for alternate times between daytimes and evenings. Please understand that parent’s voice counts for a lot and your attendance can really do a lot for your child.

#3: Show your child how much you value education

It’s important inculcate in your child an understanding that education is a lifelong experience. So, in order to exert a positive influence on children, you can spend time reading books or even taking classes yourself. Better still, you can connect with your children through educational media and books and so on and so forth.
